Fire Suppression Systems
APi Systems Group specializes in protecting special hazard or sensitive areas, like bank vaults and
computer rooms. To do this they use halon or environmentally friendly clean agents. Clean agents
include; C02 systems, argonite, FM200 or FM-200®, FE-13 and water mist.
Fire suppression systems are used for:
- Explosion Protection
- Kitchen Hood Systems
- Vehicle Systems
- Computer Rooms
- Marine Systems
APi Systems Group offers the following fire suppression systems:
- Halon 1211 and Halon 1301
- APi Systems Group, Inc. is a fully licensed repository for the handling and storage of
Halon 1301 and halon 1211. Click here for more information on
halon 1211 and halon 1301.
- CO2 Systems
- CO2 systems are the preferred choice as an extinguishant for a multitude of critical
facilities. Fast, efficient and adaptable to a wide range of hazards, the discharge of
carbon dioxide [a low-cost clean agent] is non-damaging to property and electrically
non-conductive. Multi-Hazard Protection can be designed to provide automatic, simultaneous
discharge for a variety of hazards and configurations.
- Argonite
- Argonite is an inert gas that extinguishes fire based on the principle of oxygen
depletion. Argonite is an environmentally acceptable clean agent that offers Zero Ozone
Depletion Potential (ODP) and Zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). It is safe for use in
a wide range of sensitive applications where people are present and is electronically
non-conductive. Argonite produces no post fire residue: thus, there is no damage to protected
equipment and nothing to clean up.
- FM-200®
- Developed as a Halon replacement, FM-200® is the best people-compatible, clean
agent fire protection for vital facilities. FM-200® extinguishes fire via a combination
of chemically-based fire inhibition and cooling. It is environmentally acceptable, safe to
use with sensitive equipment, fast-acting, efficient and effective.
- FE-13
- Due to its low toxicity, FE-13 can be used in areas that are normally occupied. This makes
it useful in total flood applications such as a control room where people occupy the protected
space during discharge of the system. FE-13 is environmentally acceptable, safe to use with
sensitive equipment, fast-acting, efficient and effective.
- Water Mist
- Natural, non-toxic, efficient and widely applicable, this risk-specific fire protection
solution is a fine spray mist that offers effective protection without the deluge and damage
of traditional water-based systems.
- Water Mist can be used for:
- Gas Turbines
- Machinery Spaces
- Steam Turbine Generator Bearings

Kidde vehicle fire suppression systems are widely used to protect both on and off-road trucks,
heavy construction and mining equipment, busses and garbage trucks.
Kidde Wolfpack:
The Kidde Wolfpack is a select group of distributors who combine their knowledge of fire protection
with their experience in the mining industry. Backed by the total worldwide resources of Kidde, these
Wolfpack distributors can offer customers cost-effective solutions to a wide range of mining fire
protection challenges. Their products (typical applications) include: Badger hand portable and wheeled
units (flammable liquid storage and fueling areas), Kidde FE-13 systems (electrical controls), Kidde
Alarmline linear detection (cable trays), Kidde vehicle systems (ore haulers and other large capacity
vehicles), Kidde FM-200® systems (process control rooms), Kidde CO2 systems (turbines) and Fenwal
explosion protection systems (processing plants).
Please contact your local APi Systems Group office for more information
