APi Systems Group provides site test, inspection and certification.

For over 18 years, our alliance partner, Micropack Engineering, has provided the petrochemical industry a sophisticated engineering modeling service designed to assess the "probability of detection" for any gas or fire detection system; a hazard-based design approach. Analysis of an installation produces a complex interaction of detection coverages where physical obstructions are virtually impossible to visualize without computer assistance. This software allows the designer to optimize the detector layout and determine the probability of its being able to achieve the defined performance targets.

We also partner with a subsidiary of DTE Energy Technologies for assessing the material condition of high voltage electrical power networks without taking systems and critical loads out of service. The "partial discharge" testing method profiles conductor integrity in power generating stations, offshore platforms, refineries and other large-scale facilities. The resulting ratings of system integrity and probability of failure (demonstrated over 95% accurate) are used to optimize the detection and suppression design strategy.
